On Andrew Yang, presidential candidate for the end of the world as we expect it to be

The Boston crowd is mostly techies and earnest college kids. I catch a few whiffs of weed but nothing unreasonable given the venue. An iRobot engineer is holding up a “Humanity First” sign. (“People say immigrants are taking the jobs,” he tells me, “but really it’s me.”) Farther back, a man named Joe is selling bootleg Yang2020 hats, copies of the “vaporwave” hats used in Yang memes. According to his Etsy store, he’s made 10 sales online, with at least two more made in person at the rally.

He imagined “an army of smart, enterprising graduates building businesses in Detroit, New Orleans, Providence, Baltimore, Cleveland, St. Louis, and other cities that could use a boost.” In 2011, he donated $120,000 of his own money to start Venture For America (VFA), an accelerator meant to build new startups and new jobs in emerging cities outside of coastal startup hubs.

#AndrewYang2020 - so that our babyboys will no longer be circumcised!

But in an interview with The Daily Beast, he said that if he were elected he would incorporate that view into public policy, mainly by pushing initiatives meant to inform parents that they don’t need to have their infants circumcised for health reasons.

But Yang’s coalition seems to be comprised of a hodgepodge of groups with offbeat interests beyond just universal basic income. And he now has his eye on a new demographic: circumcision opponents who call themselves “intactivists”—a reference to their desire to keep penises “intact.”

“The more choice we give parents, and the more we diminish the possible preconceptions or misinformation various parents are receiving, then the better off we’ll be as a society,” Yang said.

Poverty isn't a lack of character; it's a lack of cash | Rutger Bregman

Rising Star Rutger Bregman hits on so many ideas I hold dear in this talk that I want to say he's my new hero image. It's narcissistic too because I like him for thinking like me. ;) However, I believe these ideas stand on their own.

News on Democratic president candidate Andrew Yang

(Spoiler alert: Two of those three news are less flattering on his persona but are related to his presidential campaign and the use of memes that appear disadvantageous for his reputation and his chance to be elected president in the #Election2020.)

1. National Review:

Citing dysfunction and technological flux, he has staked his intrepid campaign on the message that the economy “is going wrong for millions of people” and that he will make “big moves” to right it. It’s landed with the NEETbux crowd. And so Yang has replaced Donald Drumpf as the meme candidate.

Journalists have approvingly referenced #YangGang in a way that they never could the assorted tropes of the alt-right. Yang has been s

A lot of people balk at the idea of a universal basic income (UBI) or similar ways to solve the current and impending job and occupation dearth (see automation, robots, AI, etc.). However implementing a UBI of needs, such as meat, carbon fuel, flights, reproduction might be the way to reintroduce the rationing that is accepted in wartime (and it is arguable that the threat of climate change is as dire as the threat of hostile invasion) and redistribute commons goods equally rather than financially. Whether they are distributed along the nine planetary boundaries as developed by the Stockholm Resilience Center or along more readily understandable quantities such as meat, we need to accept the fact that we, the human race, are living beyond our means.

People like Buterin really really bother me.....
They just constantly lie and mislead without blinking an eye.....
But just to publicly answer Buterin's comment here, the answer is NO.
That "NO" issues from the observable basis that market handling was turned over to HFT and other algos (aka "A.I." aka "Advanced Idiots"). Simply given the speed at which the "Advanced Idiots" perform actions alone, there's no "normal" human alive that knows exactly what they are doing at any given time or why they're doing it. However, it should be noted what sectors facilitated and oversaw the Advanced Idiots being put into place to begin with. (see also:... show more
