Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu plans to name Golan Heights settlement after Donald Trump

The naked appeal to Drumpf’s vanity — proposing to add his name to the map of the Middle East even as it disappears from apartment buildings in New York — came as Israeli officials expressed alarm that the American president had not yet done enough to sabotage the Iran nuclear deal.

“We have to get others to walk away because the deal is still alive,” Israel’s American-born ambassador to Washington, Ron Dermer, said last month at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference. The prospect of Drumpf’s successor rejoining the deal, he added, “is something that has to be seen as totally unacceptable.”

Sanders, who would be the first Jewish president of the United States, was asked by a young Jewish activist on Monday during a CNN town hall if his prior criticism of Netanyahu would damage relations with Israel should he be elected.

The kingdom of Brunei demands tolerance and understanding for death sentence for homosexuality

In a letter to Members of the European Parliament (MEP) dated April 15, the kingdom's mission to the EU wrote Brunei enforced its own legislation in the interest of preserving its traditional, religious and cultural values, and that there was "no one standard that fits all".
Death sentences based on somone's crime to be homosexual has got nothing to do with religions, but is only a means of oppressing minorities. Just because people used to believe that it was a misdemeanour to fall in love with the same sex doesn't mean we need to maintain this belief in the new age and even punish it as a capital crime. There's a difference between the knowledge of humans in the middle ages from today's knowledge in anatomy, medicine and the such. Even religions should be able to move forward in acknowledging proven facts.
The MPs also called on the EU to consider asset freezes and visa bans on the South-East Asian nation, and to blacklist n

On Julian Assange

1. World Socialist Website:

CNN cited US legal scholar Orin Kerr, who bluntly stated that the two publicly-revealed US charges against Assange—alleging he was involved in a conspiracy to gain unauthorised access to a US government computer—were “a placeholder.” Kerr said they were only “a brief indictment sufficient to get the case started, but very likely only a small part of any case against Assange.”

There is no evidence, in the indictment against Assange, or a supporting affidavit from an FBI special agent, indicating that the password was ever broken. Moreover, as an army intelligence analyst, Manning already had authorised access to all of the material that she would provide to WikiLeaks.

The affidavit against Assange accompanying the indictment, however, incorporates language taken directly from the US Espionage Act. It states that “Manning and Assange had reason to be

IRS to release new deadline for Trump's tax returns next month

Neal, who had set a 5 p.m. Tuesday deadline for the IRS to turn over the documents, said in a statement that he plans to "consult with counsel about my next steps.” He is likely to subpoena the documents at some point and, given the administration’s resistance to subpoenas issued or threatened by other committees, the dispute is expected to wind up in court.

"It's already been litigated in the court of public opinion and in the election. The president won it fairly and squarely," he said. "He's the president, and no one cares about ridiculous charges about tax returns and all types of other things Democrats are doubling down on today."

Drumpf is suing House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) to block a subpoena of Drumpf’s financial records from an accounting firm, Mazars USA. Cummings wants the bank records to investigate allegations that Drumpf falsely inflated and deflated asset values to benefit himself, but the president’s lawyers

Abandoned toddler spot with phone number attached to his shoe

The agents have taken the boy to a U.S. border station and are attempting to find his parents using the number on his shoes, the officials said. So far, they have been unsuccessful and are in the process of transferring the boy to the care of Health and Human Services.

The incident marks a flashpoint in the rising number of families and children crossing the border in recent months. In March, a total of 8,975 children traveling without their parents, but most often in groups, were apprehended at the southern border. The number of families crossing has also climbed, with 53,077 parents and children crossing the border together last month.

Rochester Drug Cooperative CEO charged by Feds amid opioid crisis

“This prosecution is the first of its kind: executives of a pharmaceutical distributor and the distributor itself have been charged with drug trafficking, trafficking the same drugs that are fueling the opioid epidemic that is ravaging this country. Our Office will do everything in its power to combat this epidemic, from street-level dealers to the executives who illegally distribute drugs from their boardrooms,” U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said in a statement.

RDC was also charged with failing to properly report thousands of suspicious orders of oxycodone, fentanyl and other controlled substances to the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), officials said.

In the opioid industry, RDC is a middleman that buys controlled substances from manufacturers and sells them to individual pharmacies. As one of the nation's 10 largest drug distributors, it delivered to more than 1,300 pharmacies and took in over $1 billion in revenue during the relevant five-year pe

Trump calls for boycott of correspondence dinner

But the president is having none of it. Though Drumpf himself has spurned the annual White House Correspondents’ dinner for the past two years, he’s taking it a step further, ordering administration officials to boycott the dinner, according to two White House officials. Dozens of administration officials have attended the dinner in previous years, but many will be sending rented tuxes and gowns back without wear this year.

The president, who has derided the event as “so boring and negative,” has for the past two years used the evening instead to hold a political rally, where he has railed against the news media. He is set to do so again this year in Green Bay, Wisc.

Press Sec. Sarah H. Sanders avoided formal press conferences for 43 consecutive days, breaking previous highscore by one

The prolonged silence has come amid a particularly chaotic time for the Drumpf administration following the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s redacted report on the Russia investigation. While it cleared the Drumpf campaign of conspiring with Russia, the 448-page document exposed not only presidential misconduct but also a hotbed of conflict within the White House, where aides routinely ignored the president’s demands.

“If you are the press secretary and you are caught defending an indefensible policy or an indefensible act by the president, you can get pilloried out there for an hour, and the American people see it,” Lee said. “That’s what drives home to everybody watching that you don’t have a leg to stand on and that something has to change. That oftentimes does force change. It’s no accident that they’ve cut that off.”

Microsoft employees protest against Jack Ma's 996 policy

Several local Chinese browsers have already blocked access to 996.ICU, including Tencent, Alibaba, Xiaomi, and Qihoo 360.

"We, the workers of Microsoft and GitHub, support the 996.ICU movement and stand in solidarity with tech workers in China. We know this is a problem that crosses national borders," wrote employees in the petition.

"Another reason we must take a stand in solidarity with Chinese workers is that history tells us that multinational companies will pit workers against each other in a race to the bottom as they outsource jobs and take advantage of weak labour standards in the pursuit of profit," they added.

Philippines' Rodrigo Duterte gives Canada one week to take back trash, otherwise war will be declared

Full text:
The president of the Philippines says if Canada doesn’t take back tonnes of trash within the next week he will “declare war” and ship the containers back himself.
Filipino media outlets report that Rodrigo Duterte made threats Tuesday about dozens of shipping containers filled with Canadian household and electronic garbage that has been rotting in a port near Manila for nearly six years.
Why did Canada (or Canadian companies) ship their trash to the Philippines? This truly is disgusting, and shouldn't have happened in the first place. I hope that Mr. Trudeau will act soon, so that it won't get as far as to this ridiculous declaration of war.

«Umbrella nine» leaders sentenced to jail

Raphael Wong and Shiu Ka-chun were sentenced to eight months while former student leader Eason Chung and Democratic party member Lee Wing-tat were given eight-month sentences suspended for two years.

The activists planned to use civil disobedience tactics and occupy Hong Kong’s central business district in hopes that Beijing would allow Hong Kong voters to choose the city’s leader for the first time in history in 2017.

Brazilian court lowers former president Lula da Silva's sentence

The 73-year-old leftist icon, who has been sentenced to 25 years behind bars in two separate corruption cases, marked his first year in jail earlier this month.
Lula was originally sentenced to nine and a half years on charges that he accepted a seaside apartment as a bribe for helping the OAS construction company during his 2003-2010 presidency to get lucrative deals with state oil firm Petrobras.
Lula's efforts to get out of jail were dealt a blow recently when the Supreme Court indefinitely delayed debate on whether a prisoner convicted of a non-violent crime should be released before the end of the appeals process, which could have potentially freed him.

The sentences were carried out in Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, the Eastern Province, Qassim and Asir regions.

The convicts were also found guilty of attacking headquarters of security forces by using explosives, and killing a number of security men.

In the ‘60s, it was the revolutionary counterculture and the rise of the New Left. Today, it is the scourge of identity politics and the attendant intersectionality, trigger warnings, among other signs of radical left dominance among students and faculty alike.
I wouldn't call it the radical left but the whimpy left. This has got nothing to do with radicalism but rather with emotionalism. You simply have to tell them that when they can't stand the heat, they should stay out of the kitchen. Something like that.
Still, you shouldn't give somebody like Milo a stage, at least not at campus. He's got nothing to do with politics but only with populism. and colleges should not be the place to promote populism. I was fine with Jordan Peterson, but Milo crosses a line of decency.

«Donald Trump is cancer», opines husband to Kellyanne Conway, George Conway

That’s especially damning because the ultimate issue shouldn’t be — and isn’t — whether the president committed a criminal act. As I wrote not long ago, Americans should expect far more than merely that their president not be provably a criminal. In fact, the Constitution demands it.

Trump tried to “limit the scope of the investigation.” He tried to discourage witnesses from cooperating with the government through “suggestions of possible future pardons.” He engaged in “direct and indirect contacts with witnesses with the potential to influence their testimony.” A fair reading of the special counsel’s narrative is that “the likely effect” of these acts was “to intimidate witnesses or to alter their testimony,” with the result that “the justice system’s integrity [was]threatened.” Page after page, act after act, Mueller’s report describes a

Why are people upset about the term «Easter worshippers»?

The term is more descriptive than “Christians,” because it conveys the additional fact that the victims were actively celebrating Easter when they were killed. They are worshippers, and it is Easter. If it helps, try putting the emphasis on worshippers in the phrase: It’s Easter worshippers, not Easter-worshippers.

If anything, “Easter worshippers” puts extra emphasis on the religious nature of the attack by pointing out that it happened on a day of special spiritual meaning to victims. It implies: Not only did you attack Christians, you did it today of all days.

(In other contexts, in fact, conservative Christians make the point that not all holiday churchgoers are “real” Christians. As early-20th-century evangelist Billy Sunday once put it: “Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you an automobile.”)

Chalking car tires ruled unconstitutional

Did anyone ever mind that the Constitution was written in a time in which some of the things that have to be ruled nowadays might have not existed yet? I mean, we are talking about cars that stand in places in which their parking time might have expired already. We are talking about cases that would have been impossible to even know at the time in which the Constitution was written. To rule according to her is ridiculous. You are trying to fit in amendments and laws that are not up to date, on occassions that have overtaken the Constitution by decades.
Taylor claimed the city’s practice of marking the tires of parked cars with chalk constituted a warrantless search and violated her Fourth Amendment rights. The chalk marks are used to determine whether a car has stayed in the same parking spot beyond its allowed time limit.

She continued, “The city does not show that the location or length of time that Taylor’s vehicle was parked created the type of ‘hazard’ or traffi
