Haiku OS - an open-source operating system that isn't GNU/Linux or BSD!
I've watched the Haiku OS project (http://www.haiku-os.org/) from afar for years now, and I'm excited to see that the latest release (https://www.haiku-os.org/get-haiku/release-notes/) seems to show quite a lot of activity and progress! It's definitely worth keeping an eye on. While I don't really see myself going for a bare-metal install, just yet, I'm going to attempt a VM install this evening, if time permits - so stay tuned, as I'll be reporting back with my experience and initial take on it in the coming days!
If you've used Haiku OS I'd love to hear what you have to say about the experience!
I'd also love to learn about any other less-mainstream OSes. Not so much GNU/Linux distros, but novel and less derivative OSes that you may have come across, particularly projects that are under the radar with active repos!

The chilean Huemul Hippocamelus bisulcus (pronounced as wemul) called on Engrishu as South Andean Deer is an Endangered species of Deer endemic of Chile, and some parts of the Border with Argentina. Previous the conquest by the Spaniards these deer had been on a surface almost ten times more than the one they have today. But the hunting, the introducction of domestic great farm animals, and the rise of the population had move them to difficcult and unpopulated zones on the chilean Patagonia
Therefore is the Animal we have at the side of the condor in or cote of arms.
By Reason Or By Force
There are many political and agreements with Argentina to protect this deer from extinction and some attempts on reintroduction on their historical area

Lycalopex fulvipes called in Spanish, Zorro Chilote (chilote fox) or Zorro de Darwin (Darwin's fox) is an endemic fox on Chile, located in the homeland of my father's family, Chiloe Island And where I live hahaha (I watched one on 2007) . It's critically in danger because many factors, all of them related to humans, like wild dogs that steal to chilote fox their preys, or angry farmers. There are 600 chilote fox. However many attempts to make new reserves had been successful and this fox have more territory to live in peace.
I have made a post about chilote culture here I know I posted about this fox on 2018, but I wished to do a haiku about it n-n
Pseudalopex is a South American genus of canine distantly related to wolves and is technically not a fox. When Charles Darwin collected a specimen from San Pedro Island in Chiloé Archipelago in December 1834 during the Beagle survey expedition, he observed that this "fox (of Chiloe, a rare animal) sat on the point & was so absorbed in watching [survey work], that he allowed me to walk behind him & actually kill him with my geological hammer.Bad Guy Darwin

The Peculiar Life of a Lonely Postman
by Denis Thériault

A beautifully tragic and thought-provoking tale that perfectly reflects the elegance and style of Murakami and the skill and plotting of Julian Barnes
Bilodo lives a solitary daily life, routinely completing his postal rounds every day and returning to his empty Montreal apartment. But he has found a way to break the cycle—Bilodo has taken to stealing people's mail, steaming open the envelopes, and reading the letters inside. And so it is he comes across Ségolène's letters. She is corresponding with Gaston, a master poet, and their letters are each composed of only three lines. They are writing each other haikus. The simplicity and elegance of their poems move Bilado and he begins to fall in love with her. But one day, out on his round, he witnesses a terrible and tragic accident. Just as Gaston is walking up to the post-box to mail his next haiku to Ségolène, he is hit by a car and dies on the side of the road. And so Bilodo makes an extraordinary decision—he will impersonate Gaston and continue to write to Ségolène under this guise. But how long can the deception continue for? Denis Thériault weaves a passionate and elegant tale, comic and tragic with a love story at its heart. (less)
I don't find the blurb on this book as indicative of the depth and wonder that this book inspired within me, particularly if you enjoy #Haiku
